First thing Saturday morning I decided to fix the washing machine. This decision had not been reached lightly. The cold water pressure was weak so I had checked with two experts at work (i.e., they had both owned washing machines at one time or another) and determined that it was a sticky solenoid. I grabbed my toolbox and told my wife what I was planning.

Spring has finally returned to our neck of the woods. I love Spring time. I look forward to it more with each passing year. I usually start counting down the days right after Christmas. Winter doesnt seem that long if you do it that way.

But you will, you will, when the word gets around about how these two inglorious talents were by-passed, how they missed being touched by the magic wand of Fate. For contrary to popular belief, the series of light operettas commonly attributed to Gilbert and Sullivan were in effect written by the pair of nonentities named above, Artie being the melodist and Will the versifier.

Oh my, how I envy those Morning Glory People. They are the ones who wake up before the rooster crows, stretch like a cat, jump out of bed and into the shower and then into their clothes. In ten minutes tops they have the beds made and breakfast on the table. Five minutes later they're dancing out the door like Dorthy on her way to see the Wizard. I hate these people. I'm green with envy.
